ITAGC College almost pulled off a major upset on the weekend with two of it's star players finishing second in the Queensland Mixed Foursomes Championship. Maggie Yuan Shane Wylie - the academic director of ITAGC - and Maggie Yuan - future ladies professional - teamed up to take a crack at the state's best foursome pairings. The Queensland state team was heavily represented on the day and most favoured pairings were drawn from both the male and female representatives. Shane and Maggie had a rough start with a 4 over 74 in the morning round, most likely due to the fact that Shane hadn't played or practised for three weeks with work commitments to his students. But in the afternoon the pair lit it up and hadn't the lowest round of the tournament, a 2 under 68. This moved them to second place, just three shots behind the eventual winners. A fantastic result for the first time pairing and a fitting note to end Maggie Yuan's days at ITAGC. She now heads off to Salt Lake City, Utah to take up a US Collegiate scholarship. We wish her all the best!! |

Ben Clapham, one of ITAGC's youngest students took out the under 12 NSW state age championships at Mollymook golf club. He completed three very solid rounds to win the plate by 5 shots. Ben has been tutored by ITAGC's Sydney coach, Shinji Ikeda since February at Macquarie Links Golf Club and continues to impress all involved. |
